The 1930 Aruba Instant On switches include advanced Gigabit switches with intelligent management and fixed configuration designed for small businesses that are easy to deploy and affordable. They are built to handle today's bandwidth-intensive applications such as voice and video conferencing communications, enabling consistent connectivity for improved performance.
You can use the Instant On mobile app or the cloud-based web portal to quickly configure, monitor and manage the 1930 series switches from anywhere, anytime. In addition, up to 30 W PoE power is available out-of-the-box for your Class 4 PoE devices, such as access points, surveillance cameras and Voice over IP (VoIP) devices, all of which can be easily managed from the same platform.
Built-in security features protect your network from unauthorized access by allowing you to segment traffic and define access to each area of the network. And all this is included in the price of the hardware; there are no hidden subscription or licensing fees.

Easy administration of local web GUI
The intuitive web GUI makes it easy to manage individual switches, even for non-technical users. Supports up to five (5) HTTP and secure HTTP (HTTPS) sessions.
Firmware upgrade
Gives notice of the latest firmware with the ability to schedule the update at a specific time via the Instant On mobile app and cloud-based web portal.
Default DHCP client mode
Allows the switch to connect directly to a network, which supports plug-and-play operation. In the absence of a DHCP server on the network, the switch reverts to the static address 192.168.1.1.
Mirror ports
They allow traffic on a port or VLAN to be sent simultaneously to a network analyzer for monitoring.
Event log and alerts
Provides detailed information for problem identification and resolution.
Account management
Allows administrators to add, modify, delete and transfer management accounts and passwords for secure access to Instant's cloud management solution.
Location LED
Allows users to set the location LED on a specific switch to turn on, blink or turn off; simplifies troubleshooting by making it easier to locate a particular switch within a rack of similar switches.
Traffic prioritization
It provides time-constrained packets (such as VoIP and video) with priority over other traffic based on their DSCP or IEEE 802.1p classification.
Automatic network for voice
Recognizes IP phones and prioritizes voice traffic automatically. Allows easy configuration of voice traffic segmentation to the dedicated voice network for optimal performance.
IEEE 802.1p/Q VLAN tagging
Delivers data to devices based on priority and traffic type; supports IEEE 802.1Q.
Class of Service (CoS)
Sets IEEE 802.1p/DSCP priority to queue mappings (4 queues). Supports strict priority (SP) or balanced cyclic ordering (WRR) queuing. SP or WRR queues can be configured on individual switch ports.
QoS based on advanced classifier
Classifies traffic using various matching criteria based on layer 2, 3 and 4 information.
Fiber SFP/SFP+ connectivity
Provides fiber connections for uplink and other connections over longer distances than supported by copper cables. SFP ports are provided in addition to the available copper Ethernet ports, providing a greater total number of available ports. Two (2) 1G SFP ports are available on 8-port models and four (4) 1G/10G SFP+ ports are available on 24/48-port models.
Automatic MDI/MDI-X
Automatically adjusts for straight-through or crossover cables on all 10/100/1000 ports.
Safety as a function of TPM
It includes a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for secure hardware-based generation and storage of cryptographic keys used for secure connection to the Instant On cloud portal.
VLAN support with IEEE 802.1Q
Support for up to 256 VLANs with a VLAN ID range of 2-4093
Network access control
Enables restricted access to protect the network by allowing connected devices to reach only specific destinations.
Port access control with IEEE 802.1X
Authentication of network users per port before allowing access to the network. Port authentication includes VLAN assigned by RADIUS or dynamic VLAN creation.
Port security: admission list
Allows users to limit network access to specific clients per port.
Automatic denial of service protection
Controls malicious attacks and protects the network by blocking attacks.
Snooping the DHCP
Provides network security by filtering untrusted DHCP messages.
Prevention of ARP attacks
Dynamic ARP protection blocks ARP broadcasts from unauthorized hosts, thus preventing network data interception or theft attacks.
Packaged storm protection
Protects against unknown unicast, broadcast and multicast storms with user-defined thresholds.
RADIUS
The switch supports RADIUS authentication with primary and backup server configuration.

There is a robust set of attributes and statistics available to collect information from the switch.
VLAN management identification
It provides administrators with secure access for management on the specified VLAN.
Link status change prevention
Minimizes network disruption by automatically detecting and disconnecting ports where there are link state change events.
Low Energy Ethernet (EEE)
Meets IEEE 802.3az standard requirements for power saving during periods of low data activity.
Automatic port deactivation
The switch saves power by automatically disabling power to inactive ports. Power is restored to a port upon link detection.
Energy saving status
The switch provides estimated cumulative energy savings due to the activation of Green Ethernet features.
Energy efficient cooling
It includes variable speed fans that operate only at the speed required to maintain operating temperature to reduce excess noise and power consumption.
Fanless operation
The fanless design of the 8-port models and the 24- and 48-port non-PoE models makes the switches ideal for office deployments.
Static IPv4 routing
Supports manual or DHCP IP address assignments to an individual VLAN.
IEEE 802.3x Flow control
It provides a flow limiting mechanism propagated throughout the network to prevent the loss of a packet at a congested node.
Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
It supports standard IEEE 802.1D STP, IEEE 802.1w Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) for faster convergence and IEEE 802.1s Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP in local network).
Loop protection
If the switch detects a loop, it disables the source port of data forwarding packets originating from the switch to avoid broadcast storms.
BPDU filter
Disconnects BPDU packets when STP is enabled globally but disabled on a specific port.
Giant frame support
Supports frame sizes up to 9216 bytes to improve the performance of large data transfers.
Snooping the IGMP v1/v2
Improves network performance through multicast filtering, instead of saturating traffic on all ports.
Link aggregation
It aggregates multiple ports up to a maximum of eight (8) ports per trunk automatically using the Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) or manually, to form a high bandwidth connection to the backbone that helps prevent traffic bottlenecks. The 8-port models support 4 trunks, the 24-port models support 8 trunks and the 48-port models support 16 trunks.
LLDP/LLDP-MED (media end detection)
Defines a standard LLDP extension that stores values for parameters such as Quality of Service (QoS) and VLANs to automatically configure network devices such as IP phones.
Address Resolution Protocol (ARP)
The ARP table shows all IP addresses that have been resolved as MAC addresses, either dynamically or through static input configuration.
Access Control Lists (ACL)
Allows you to filter network traffic by creating an ACL, add rules and matching criteria to an ACL, and apply the ACL to allow or deny access to one or more interfaces or a VLAN. Supports 50 inbound IPv4 and MAC ACLs with up to 480 ACEs.
IPv6 Host
Enables management and deployment of switches on the periphery of the IPv6 network.
Rate limitation
Establishes and enforces ingress traffic limits per port based on percentages of packets per second.
Protected ports
Ports in a port isolation group are restricted from forwarding Layer 2 traffic between ports in that group, providing data privacy and security.
File transfer via SCP or TFTP
It provides different mechanisms for secure file transfer via SCP (Secure Copy Protocol) or TFTP.
Dual image support
Provides independent primary and secondary software images for backup when upgrading.
User account management
The password verification and expiration feature brings increased security to user account management in the local web administration interface.
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
Encrypts all HTTP traffic, allows secure access to local browser-based switch management.
SNMPv1, v2c y v3
Facilitates switch management, as the device can be discovered and monitored from an SNMP management station.
Remote monitoring (RMON)
Remote monitoring (RMON) provides advanced monitoring and reporting capabilities for statistics, history, alarms and events. RMON data is obtained from the switch through a network management platform with SNMP.
