    Para aquellas conexiones que requieran grandes distancias, hay que usar los módulos de conexión mono-modo. Los módulos UF-SM-1G se pueden usar hasta distancias de 3 km y velocidades de 1 Gbps. Se pueden usar en equipos como el EdgePoint con el EdgePower, para proteger y aislar la alimentación DC y los despliegues de fibra .

    Utiliza un modelo BiDi (BiDireccional),  el UF-SM-1G-S, para optimizar la reutilización de infraestructutra existente. Hay que utilizar un set emparejado, porque cada unidad de la pareja utiliza dos longitudes de onda diferentes, para el tráfico de subida y de bajada en una misma fibra.

    For long-distance single-mode runs, use the UF‑SM‑1G for distances of up to 3 km at 1 Gbps. To protect DC power and fiber, deploy EdgePoint™ with EdgePower™.

    Deploy a BiDi (BiDirectional) model, UF-SM-1G-S, to maximize re-use of existing infrastructure. You must deploy a BiDi model as a paired set of modules because the pair uses two different wavelengths, upstream and downstream, on a single fiber.
